In IT’LL BE FINE, Julie and Jake, two friends that grew up together in a small town in upstate NY, move to the city after falling in love and begin planning their lives together. But when their childhood best friend dies by suicide as they prepare for their wedding, the couple is forced to confront grief, identity, and the new uncertainty of the future they imagined together.
From the playwright, “I was moved to write ‘It'll Be Fine’ to process some of the grief I had experienced as a young adult and to explore how it affects relationships and life's biggest decisions. As much as this is a story about two people navigating love, it is also very much a story about how difficult it is to love when you are weighed down by grief. If there is one thing I hope I've done right, it's to create a story that audiences can connect to, see a little bit of themselves in, and leave believing that it will truly be fine. “
IT’LL BE FINE explores themes of grief, loss, and healing. Audience discretion is advised due to discussions of suicide.
