WASHINGTONVILLE, NY – Theatre on Main Street is thrilled to announce their production of the classic Broadway musical 42nd Street, coming to the stage on Friday, November 7, 2025, at 7:00 PM for two weekeds through November 16, 2025. This intimate theater experience reimagines the iconic musical in a way audiences may not have experienced before.
Transforming the theater’s black box space into a 1930s Broadway musical production, Theatre on Main Street’s staging puts patrons directly in the action. With the audience surrounding the performance on three sides, every tap of a shoe, every spin of a dancer, and every soaring note happens within touching distance—creating an immediacy and electricity that traditional theater does not offer.

This configuration puts you right in the rehearsal studio where Peggy Sawyer discovers her destiny. You’ll experience the opening number’s explosive tap sequence with rhythmic shockwaves resonating through the floorboards beneath your feet.
