George Lee Andrews and Justin Scott Brown Lead 'TIM AND SCROOGE', Starting Tonight at WBT

Westchester Broadway Theatre presents TIM AND SCROOGE, A CAROL FOR A LATER CHRISTMAS, with music by Neil Berg and book & lyrics by Nick Meglin. Directed by Nick Corley with musical direction by Patrick Hoagland, the production will run tonight, December 3 - December 27, 2015.

One of the most celebrated holiday stories ever told continues. In this musical sequel to Charles Dickens' famed "A Christmas Carol," it's been twelve years since Ebenezer Scrooge experienced his wonderful transformation from cold miser to loving benefactor of Tiny Tim and the Cratchit family.

In that time, Scrooge has died a changed man and lovingly bequeathed the Scrooge & Marley Counting house to Tim Crachit. Tim, while away at university, has fallen in love with a beautiful orphan girl named Allison. As Tim approaches his 21st birthday, He discovers he will soon assume management of the Scrooge and Marley Counting House. He, however, is more interested in being a teacher than a money manager, and signs away control of the business to two unscrupulous speculators, beginning a series of events that threatens to tear him away from his family and Allison, unless the spirit of Ebenezer Scrooge can help Tim set things right again.

With a lighthearted, traditional, Broadway score Tim and Scrooge, while set in the Dickensian Era, ultimately, is a universal story about modern ideals and family relationships

Tim and Scrooge, Composed by Neil Berg with book and lyrics by Nick Meglin (former editor of Mad Magazine), was voted "one of the best musicals" of the inaugural NYMF festival in NYC, and garnered a glowing review in the NY Times after it opened at The Queens Theater in the Park, starring TONY nominee Bobby Steggert. It was also presented as a special reading at the Criterion Theater in the London's West End. It has been performed regionally across the USA for the past five years.

WBT's production stars George Lee Andrews as Mr. Scrooge and Justin Scott Brown as Tim. Neil Berg and Nick Meglin also collaborated on the musical version of Grumpy Old Men: The Musical, based on the Warner Brothers movie classic starring Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau. They are presently working on The Mice Will Play, a musical about Madison Avenue in the early 60's. Neil Berg is also the composer/lyricist of the hit Off-Broadway musical The Prince and the Pauper, and the composer/co-lyricist, along with Pulitzer Prize/TONY winning playwright Robert Schenkkan, of the Award Winning new rock musical The Twelve. It opened at the Denver Center in the spring of 2015 to unanimous rave reviews, and won the 2015 HENRY Award for best new play or musical.

George Lee Andrews (Scrooge). Has appeared on Broadway in: Evita- 2012 Revival, The Phantom of the Opera (original cast, Guinness World Record as longest-running actor in same Broadway show), NY City Opera production of A Little Night Music as Fredrik Egerman, Sweeney Todd, with the NY Philharmonic. the PBS Great Performances' "Sondheim Gala-A Celebration of Carnegie Hall's 200th Year". A Little Night Music, On The Twentieth Century, Merlin and Sondheim, A Musical Tribute, recorded live. He is featured on the original cast album of Starting Here, Starting Now. Off-Broadway: The Fantasticks at the Sullivan Street Playhouse, and at The Snapple Theatre Center and Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris at the Village Gate. Justin Scott Brown (Tim) originated the role of Marius in the 25th Anniversary National tour of Les Miserables. He also appeared in the 1st National Tour of the Tony-winning musical Spring Awakening, as well as Off-Broadway in Far From Heaven at Playwrights Horizons, Henrik in A Little Night Music at ACT, Gabe in Next to Normal at Baltimore CENTERSTAGE and Jack in Into the Woods at Westport Country Playhouse. Miss Saigon, Titanic and Meet Me in St. Louis at The Muny. Credits also include America's Got Talent and The 85th annual Academy Awards. He holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.
