BTC and The Brothers Grimm hit the stage with an epic fairytale about wishes, family and the choices we make.

Broadway Training Center of Westchester, one of the region's premier performing arts schools, will present the magical musical "Into The Woods" on May 5, 6, and 7 at the Irvington Town Hall Theater in Irvington, N.Y. This show features BTC's Junior Ensemble comprised of participants through Entrance Interview and Audition only.

"Into the Woods, " by James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim, take everyone's favorite storybook characters and bring them together for a timeless, yet relevant, piece... and a rare modern classic. The story follows a Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King's Festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone's wish is granted in Act I (rated PG), but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results in Act II (rated PG 13).

One of Sondheim's most popular works, "Into the Woods" is a musically sophisticated show with the unique opportunity to teach young performers about the genre of dark comedy. Co-Artistic Directors, Jason Brantman and Fiona Santos, are known for choosing material that challenges students to work to the top of their intellect and imagination.

BTC's production of "Into The Woods" (Rated: Act I PG/ Act II PG-13) will be showing at 7pm on Friday May 5, at 3pm Saturday May 6, and at 3:00pm Sunday May 7. Performances are located at Irvington Town Hall Theater (85 Main Street). BTC's artistic directors confirm that Act I feels like a completed story and a full production for young families wishing to depart at intermission.
