Theater for the New City, Crystal Field (Artistic Director) presents, in the Dream Up Festival: REVOLUTIONARY a sci-fi, acoustic rock musical about a conscious revolution as seen through the eyes of a group of young homeless musicians. The show takes place in New York City in the near future, after the dollar has crashed and robots have replaced humans and left them without jobs and homes. Life on the streets is not easy for these kids. Some fall into drug addiction and prostitution, while others face different perils, like robo-police brutality. When one of them is arrested by a robo cop and carted off to a FEMA camp, the others take refuge at The Source, in an abandoned church. While there, they become entangled in an underground revolution to help fight the encroaching fascism. Through, therapy, meditation and Ayahuasca ceremony, the charismatic leaders of The Source help the homeless youth heal their addictions and shift into Fifth Dimensional Consciousness. Together they become the evolution of revolution, as they join forces to help save their world.
