Boosey & Hawkes has announced the passing of Barbara Kolb, age 85, composer of evocative, intense works featuring interwoven textures, often inspired by poetry and images.

On Sunday, October 12, the musical theater community Svatuhari put on their 13th production: Idealita Analogi Elegi at Teater Salihara. This show is a retooling of Idealita, which ran in June of 2023. The musical still observes the power of idealism and reality set in a contemporary setting, but is otherwise a new theatrical experience.

Splash and Leap! is an expressionistic, contemporary/ballet dance piece incorporating art influenced by internationally renowned Australian artist, Ashvin Harrison.

The Lakeview East Chamber of Commerce will host and produce the 19th Annual Lakeview East Festival of the Arts. The official hours for the Lakeview East Festival of the Arts are Saturday, Sept. 14 from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. with additional hours for live music, food and drink tents until 10 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 15 from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Judy Collins is headed to Alaska PAC next month. The performance is on September 15 at the Discovery Theatre.
