"Black Nativity" by Langston Hughes. Stewart Theatre, NC State University campus. December 16-18, 2017 Directed by JTP’s founding Artistic Director Deb Royals. Music Direction by Carolyn Colquitt. A Downtown Raleigh Holiday Tradition. Back for a seventh year of sold out performances! With shows traditionally selling out one month prior to opening, JTP has once again secured the beautiful 750 seat Stewart Theatre on the NC State University campus. JTP presents this beautiful retelling of the birth of Jesus according to the Gospel of Saint Luke with the lyrical verse and poetry of Langston Hughes, including gospel music and dance. JTP includes a multi-cultural chorus in all “Black Nativity” productions.
