Trash at Studio 1

Trash follows Tim and Jake, two Deaf roommates who couldn't be more different. A simple argument over whose turn it is to take out the trash quickly becomes something much bigger, as the roommates unpack their personal "garbage," their complicated friendship, and their very different persectives on what it means to be Deaf in a hearing world. Funny, honest, and thought-provoking, TRASH explores friendship, identity, communication, and the assumptions we make about one another.

The play was written by Caverly and Morrill from Deaf perspectives and is performed primarily in American Sign Language, using spoken translation, projections, and other theatrical devices to make the story accessible to both Deaf and hearing audiences.
