Thurgood is a limited three-performance run of George Stevens Jr.'s play following the real-life story of Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall's fight to reshape the American legal system. Lester Purry returns as Thurgood Marshall and Lou Bellamy returns as director for this revival of the 2022 Portland Playhouse production. The production is presented at Adrienne C. Nelson High School in Happy Valley and includes student matinees with post-show conversations bringing together artists, students, and scholars to explore the history of Justice Marshall and questions of justice today.
