Due to popularity, Stumptown Stages welcomes back AVENUE Q after its sold-out run last season! This 2004 Tony Award-winning musical is part of our 2nd Stage Series in Brunish Theatre. Featuring a book by Jeff Whitty, and songs by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx.
The show is a laugh-out-loud musical that tells the timeless story of a recent college grad named Princeton who moves into a shabby New York apartment all the way out on Avenue Q. He soon discovers that although the residents seem nice, it’s clear that this is not your ordinary neighborhood, considering it’s inhabited by both people and puppets. Together, Princeton and his new-found friends struggle to find jobs, dates, and their ever-elusive purpose in life.
AVENUE Q is directed by Emily Alexander (Artistic Director of Pegasus Puppet Theatre) and Steve Coker, with Music Direction by Barney Stein. The cast features: Christopher Blake Stone (Gary Coleman), Emily Alexander (Kate Monster), Roman Martinez (Princeton), Sharon Chang (Christmas Eve), Steve Coker (Nicky), Brian Kennedy (Brian), and Zuzu Hinds (Mrs. Thistlewat).
