Chamber Music Northwest presents the first performance of Charles Martin Loeffler's rediscovered Octet, which had remained unheard since its premiere in 1897. After its recovery in 2020 by Graeme Steele Johnson, who reconstructed the score, this long-lost work will be showcased by a talented ensemble featuring clarinetists Johnson and David Shifrin, along with violinists Isabelle Ai Durrenberger and Anna Lee. The concert will also include pieces by Claude Debussy and Robert Schumann, offering a rich and varied program at First Baptist Church in Portland.
