Hearing Her Voice, running April 30 to May 3 at Jeanne Lamon Hall, features Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra with Grammy Award-winning soprano Amanda Forsythe in a program dedicated to rediscovering overlooked women composers. The repertoire draws from rarely performed Baroque works by Elisabeth Jacquet de la Guerre, Barbara Strozzi, and Marianna Martines, among others. The program also premieres nitatisipwētānān - We are Leaving, a newly commissioned piece with music by Karen Sunabacka and text by her mother, writer Joyce Clouston, tracing a throughline of women's creative voices across centuries. Program Directors Patricia Ahern, Johanna Novom, Julia Wedman, and Cristina Zacharias lead the ensemble alongside Forsythe in this exploration of classical music's rich but often unheard lineage.
