Encounters, written by Jeremy Cole, is part of the inaugural Portland Pride Play Festival, showcasing a series of short plays that delve into the complexities of queer relationships and identity. The pieces include “Members Only,” exploring the secretive connections formed in a 1949 summer club, “The Old Playground,” which reflects on the bittersweet nature of reunions, and “The Scoring System,” where self-worth is humorously examined. Directed by Alisa Peck, the cast features Bethany Kemper, Bobby Nove, Chase Reinhardt, and Kristen Pizzo.
