Diné Nishłį (i am a sacred being) Or, A Boarding School Play is a world premiere written by Blossom Johnson and directed by Jeanette Harrison, marking the inaugural production of the Native Theater Project by Bag&Baggage. The story centers on four teenage girls at a modern boarding school who are invited to perform the Navajo National Anthem at the 2002 Winter Olympics. The cast includes Taya Dixon as Rosie, alongside Dominique Knight, Aurora Hernandez, Gia Fisher, Lori Tapahonso, and Laura John, all of whom bring their unique perspectives and backgrounds to this important narrative. This production not only highlights Indigenous voices but also reflects the rich artistry of local performers in Hillsboro and the broader Portland area.
