January 24, 2010 - 6 to 8:30 pm Lucky Labrador Beer Hall

On Sunday evening, January 24th, we will celebrate Bobbie Burns' birthday with a Scottish pubsing at The Lucky Labrador Beer Hall, 1945 NW Quimby St in Portland.

It's the first fund raiser event for the 2010 Christmas Revels and a chance to gather and sing traditional songs with other Revelers.

From 6:30 to 9:00 PM at the Lucky Lab Beer Hall, we'll toast with song and beverage of choice the birthday of Scotland's greatest poet, Robert Burns. So the songs will all be from that rough and ready land. Any of you who have been at one of the past Scottish pub sings will know that this one is special. Such a wonderful array of Scottish songs, with all the choruses in hand. "The Work O' the Weavers," "Sae Will We Yet," "Auld Lang Syne," "A Man's a Man," "Jock Stewart," "Mingulay Boat Song," "Eilann Mulligh," and many more. All songs will be led and there'll be chorus sheets so no one's left out.

We are asking a donation of $10 per adult, $5 per child to raise funds for our next show. We'll eat, we'll drink, we'll sing. What better way to celebrate the birthday of Scotland's greatest poet and get this next year's Christmas Revels off to a good start.

Space is limited, so reserve a place by calling Dick Lewis at 503-282-6004 or sending him an email at ra_lewis@comcast.net
