Doubt, A Parable, by John Patrick Shanley, won both the 2005 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the Tony Award for Best Play and is widely known from the 2008 film with Meryl Streep. Set in a Bronx Catholic school in 1964, this gripping drama explores themes of moral uncertainty, institutional power, and the courage to challenge authority.

About the Theatre
Paragon Theatre was founded by Deborah Metzger, who launched Paragon Studios in 2004 as a performing arts training facility, and has since led the company through 21 seasons. In March of 2025, Metzger enabled the purchase of a historic 125-year-old church in Coraopolis, PA, which now serves as the new performance space of Paragon. The theater seats 100 and has already featured intimate plays and big musicals. The summer 2026 production of the Broadway musical Something Rotten won five Broadway World Regional Awards, including Best Musical and Best Direction of a Musical.
Metzger received her BFA in Acting from Point Park University with an emphasis in Musical Theatre emphasis. She has performed on stages across the country and has directed and performed in well over one hundred plays and musicals.

Is there parking?

Coraopolis United Methodist Church (1205 Ridge Avenue). Enter on Ridge Avenue and drive between the church and beige brick house to the “lower lot” where there are 20 spaces. Please DO NOT park in the upper lot (closer to Ridge Ave). This parking is available after 6:30 (12:30 for matinees). There is a stairway down to State Avenue.
5th Avenue / Route 51 (one street north/downhill from State Ave.) is a one-way street that allows public street parking. We encourage patrons to park there as these are the closest spaces to the theatre. These are good parking spots if you plan on having dinner at a Coraopolis restaurant prior to the show.
St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church (1034 4th Ave). – Parking lot is available in the Chestnut Ave. lot. Parking lot can be accessed from Pine Way (smaller “alley” street crossing Chestnut between 4th and 5th Avenue). Then walk uphill (crossing 5th Avenue) to State Avenue.
