The Skylark Club | Babes of the Blues at The Treasury 1929

Old Hollywood supper-club glamour returns to downtown Tucson with the premiere of Mister Bing's Skylark Club, an evening of luxury dining, fine cabaret and world-class entertainment staged beneath the Art Deco chandeliers of The Treasury 1929. Opening night features "Babes of the Blues," a tribute to the trailblazing women who defined the classic blues movement of the early twentieth century, including Ma Rainey, Bessie Smith, Mamie Smith and Ida Cox. Through vocal performances, period instrumentation and narrative storytelling, the show traces how these artists used music to express pain, joy, love and resilience during a period of profound cultural change, and how their work laid the foundation for generations of blues, jazz, rock and popular music that followed.

Powerhouse vocalist and American Idol finalist Crystal Stark leads the evening, bringing commanding vocals and a magnetic stage presence to the stories of these remarkable women.

The Skylark Club is built as a single full evening, not a concert with a meal attached. Dinner and the floor show begin together at 7:00 p.m., with tableside magicians working the room between courses. Celebrated chef Danny Scordato of Vivace prepares the four-course menu, which includes an amuse-bouche, a choice of corn bisque or grape and walnut salad, entrée selections of braised short rib, grilled branzino or crab-stuffed chicken and a choice of lemon custard cake or chocolate biscotti gelato. Gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, dairy-free and pescatarian options are available.

Guests may also attend as show-only patrons, taking in the performance from the mezzanine with a standing cocktail viewing and full bar service throughout the evening.

Elevated evening attire is encouraged. The Skylark Club is presented with black-tie elegance, though black tie is not required. The Leo Kent Hotel, located next door, serves as the official hospitality partner, with valet and on-site parking and a preferred overnight rate for Skylark guests.
