Little Shop of Horrors features music by Alan Menken and lyrics and book by Howard Ashman, based on the film by Roger Corman with screenplay by Charles Griffith. This musical blends horror, comedy, and a pop-infused score into a sci-fi love story about meek florist Seymour, who discovers a strange and unusual plant whose bloodthirsty appetite grows alongside his dreams of winning the girl he loves. The score draws inspiration from 1960s doo-wop, Motown, rock, and pop, and the production is a co-production with Pioneer Theatre Company.
