The regional premiere of The Cher Show at Arizona Broadway Theatre brings the life and legacy of a pop culture icon to the stage in a new production, May 1-31, 2026. Audiences will embark on a journey of chart-topping hits, Cher's bold transformation and her unforgettable style.
The musical spans six decades, chronicling Cher's journey from folk-pop beginnings in the 1960s to disco domination, Oscar-winning acting and dance-floor comebacks. With more than 100 million records sold, 12 top 10 hits, a Grammy Award, three Golden Globe Awards, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and a best-selling memoir, Cher is a force to be reckoned with.
“The Arizona Broadway Theatre production of The Cher Show is a celebration of reinvention, resilience and pure star power,” said Kurtis Overby, the show's director and choreographer. “What makes this show especially exciting is that it gives us the chance to introduce audiences to our unique perspective on the multi-platinum star. They will experience the glamour and grit behind an artist who never stops evolving or making headlines.”
In The Cher Show, Cher is portrayed by three actresses, each embodying a distinct phase of her life and style. From the wide-eyed dreamer just starting out to the fierce pop star breaking boundaries to the confident legend, they create a layered and dynamic portrait that captures Cher's evolution through the years.
The Arizona Broadway Theatre cast includes Dani Kucera as “Babe,” the youngest version of Cher in the 1950s and 1960s, Anthem resident Lynzee Foreman as “Lady,” the version of Cher in the 1970s, and Gabrielle Gore's “Star” represents Cher at the height of her fame and success in the 1980s and 1990s.
“Preparing to portray Cher has been a labor of love,” said Foreman. “She is truly timeless. You can ask anyone of any age who Cher is, and they know some version of her and her work. I have been deep into research, watching old interviews and performances to learn about her mannerisms, sound and how she carries herself. It has been a real joy to get to know her in that way.”
The musical features 35 of Cher's most iconic songs, including “I Got You Babe,” “Gypsys, Tramps & Thieves,” “If I Could Turn Back Time,” and “Believe.”
In addition to Kucera, Foreman and Gore, The Cher Show cast includes Adam Marino as Sonny Bono, Harrison Asher Smith as Bob Mackie and Robert Altman, Carolyn McPhee as Georgia Holt and Lucille Ball, Jack Romero as Phil Spector and Lee the stage manager and Jeffrey Kelly as Gregg Allman and John Southall.
Unlike any other theatre in the Valley, Arizona Broadway Theatre offers an all-encompassing experience that combines world-class dining and entertainment. For each show, an award-winning chef and culinary team create a custom food and beverage menu to complement the production.
Tickets for The Cher Show can be purchased now at www.AZBROADWAY.org, in person or by contacting the Box Office daily between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. at (623) 776-8400.
