THE ADVENTURES OF TOM SAWYER Comes to Life at Theater Works 11/4-14

Mark Twain's classic story comes to exuberant life in this Broadway adaptation of America's favorite book. THE ADVENTURES OF Tom Sawyer is the irresistible story of a fourteen-year-old boy growing up in the heartland of America. Directed by award winner Athena Hunting, this cherished tale will capture the hearts of the audience. To celebrate the classic story Theater Works is offering a "12 for 12" special for the opening weekend - purchase 12 or more tickets and each ticket will only be $12 dollars!

This Broadway version of Mark Twain's immortal novel is set in 1840 in St. Petersburg, Missouri, a bustling town on the banks of the Mississippi River. Watch as fourteen-year-old Tom is busy navigating the travails of teen life, as he goes head-to-head with his stern Aunt Polly, falls in love with the pretty, spirited Becky Thatcher, and embarks on a grand adventure with Becky and that irresistible rascal Huckleberry Finn. Along the way, Tom meets a terrifying scoundrel named Injun Joe, copes with his bratty half-brother Sid, and interacts with a host of colorful townspeople.

THE ADVENTURES OF Tom Sawyer will feature great music with an old time band that includes a banjo, fiddle, mandolin, guitar, and washboard! There are suspense-filled moments as Tom and Becky are cornered by the knife-wielding outcast, Injun Joe! And incredibly a raft floats down the Mississippi River as the three boys make their escape to a distant island - live on stage! This production has a cast of 55 talented adults and youth and makes for a true celebration of the literary works of Mark Twain!

THE ADVENTURES OF Tom Sawyer runs November 4th - November 14th, with evening performances Thursday - Saturday at 7:00 p.m. and matinee performances on Saturday and Sunday at 1:30 p.m. Tickets are only $20.00 for adults and $16.00 for students (prices include service and processing fees).
