This Should Never Be A Musical: An Improvised Reality Show at Arden Theatre Company Arcadia Stage

This brand new improvised adventure harkens back to 1812 Productions' rambunctious improv roots, blending elements of American Idol, Whose Line Is It Anyway, and Waiting for Guffman. Each night, the audience provides the worst musical titles they can think of, and the actors improvise songs and scenes from each one with reality tv-style challenges. The audience votes on which musicals move forward in the competition, and the winning musical is performed as a 30-minute version complete with choreography and costumes. Co-created and directed by Jennifer Childs and Mary Carpenter, the show features Mykey Carpenter, David Dritsas, Eliana Fabiyi, Kristin Finger, and Kelsey Hebert, with music direction by Jay Rosen.
