With an electrifying score of more than 30 original songs, Next to Normal shows how far two parents will go to keep themselves sane and their family’s world intact while coping with mental illness. Next to Normal portrays a family’s agonizing and beautiful journey of pain, hope, anger, and love in a ground breaking story of recovery while coming to terms with their past and bravely facing their future.
Winner of three Tony Awards and the 2010 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, Next to Normal is an intense, emotional powerhouse of a musical that aims right for the heart. Its compelling, surging pop rock score shatters through the facade of a suburban family dealing with the direct and indirect effects of mental illness.
