Joe Hisaishi, renowned composer and conductor, will perform with The Philadelphia Orchestra on November 13 and 14, marking his first concerts in Philadelphia since being appointed composer-in-residence. The performances will showcase selections from his famous Studio Ghibli film scores, including Howl’s Moving Castle and Castle in the Sky, alongside his own symphonic work DA-MA-SHI-E. Hisaishi's collaboration with the orchestra aims to enrich the Philadelphia music scene through contemporary music and mentorship for aspiring composers. Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin has praised Hisaishi's unique ability to connect cultures and generations through his music.
