Frank's Bugle, presented by Tempesta di Mare at Christ Church Neighborhood House, pays homage to the music and dances of Francis Johnson, a free Black Philadelphian hailed as among the "best musicians the city can furnish" and a monumental figure in American musical life from the 1820s through the 1840s. The program features cotillion dances by Johnson and showcases the keyed bugle, a brass instrument Johnson was particularly known for playing. Justin Bland performs on keyed bugle, joined by performers from Music of the Regiment, curated by Dominic Giardino, along with dancers from the New York Baroque Dance Company.
