Walnut Street Theatre presents the Pulitzer Prize-winning play Driving Miss Daisy, which begins previews on January 7, 2025, and officially opens on January 15. This classic story explores the transformative power of friendship between an elderly Jewish widow, Miss Daisy, portrayed by Wendy Scharfman, and her African American chauffeur, Hoke, played by Johnnie Hobbs Jr. As they navigate issues of aging, race, and class in mid-20th century America, their relationship evolves from one of employer and employee to a profound friendship. Directed by Bernard Havard, the production also features Scott Greer as Boolie, Daisy’s pragmatic son.
