Bucks County Playhouse welcomes the national tour of the uproarious one-man show by Robert Dubac in: THE MALE INTELLECT: AN OXYMORON?, followed by his THE BOOK OF MORON, starting November 25th.

With performances beginning on November 12th, running through November 23rd, audiences will discover 'Hilarious' is the only way to describe THE MALE INTELLECT: AN OXYMORON? As Robert Dubac, ransacks his brain to answer the age old question, "What do women want?" This hit one-man show pinpoints the differences between the sexes and then celebrates them with ninety minutes of non-stop laughter. It is a multi-character comedy with Mr. Dubac playing all the roles.

Starting on November 25, proudly followed by THE MALE INTELLECT: AN OXYMORON? is Robert Dubac's THE BOOK OF MORON by what Garry Shandling describes as: "Hilarious," "Intelligent," "Provocative," "Scorching," all describe Robert Dubac's new solo show THE BOOK OF MORON. "THIS IS THE FUNNIEST SHOW YOU'LL EVER THINK AT". Audiences get to ride shotgun with intelligence and absurdity as Robert crashes head first into the barriers of sex, race, religion, politics and the media. THE BOOK OF MORON is a hilarious journey down the rabbit hole of hype and spin in search of the elusive truth. It's comedy on steroids.

THE MALE INTELLECT has garnered envious reviews from San Francisco to Toronto, Chicago to LA. The Boston Globe proclaims, "Robert Dubac is talented, entertaining and very funny!" The Los Angeles Times says, "The show elicits big laughs from both sexes in waves of treble and bass" while The Philadelphia Inquirer states, "THE MALE INTELLECT is adeptly conceived, refreshingly and comically stated and Dubac has no trouble keeping it up for 90 minutes." The Denver Post and Toronto Star both gave the show its highest four-star rating, raving "THE MALE INTELLECT is hilarious as it is thought-provoking...a brilliant show."

When the show opens we meet "Bobby" in a very confused state having been dumped by the girl of his dreams. Unable to understand why, he channels some not-so-wise but hilarious advice from his five chauvinistic mentors. With a shrug of his shoulders or a crook of his neck Robert Dubac seamlessly transforms himself into these five alter egos; each offering their own brand of misguided advice. They are: THE COLONEL who insists that the key to what women want is honesty, hence all men should admit they're boneheads so they always have an out. JEAN-MICHEL who says communication is what women want.... and communicating with double-talk and mindless metaphors is completely acceptable as long as you speak with a sexy accent. FAST EDDIE who gives women want they want - passion! But he doles it out from the fast lane professing men have to "love 'em fast and leave 'em first". OLD MR. LINGER who believes women want a sense of humor. He understands women can play hard to get. He also understands that if a man plays hard to get - he doesn't get anything. Old Mr. Linger is 123 years old and believes he has discovered the secret to life. Remaining single. RONNIE CABREZZI who believes all women want is some sensitivity. He also thinks sharing your secrets makes you sensitive. However, the kind of secrets he shares with his fiancé, Lucy, just piss her off. Bobby realizes their suggestions are worthless but with help from his "feminine side" he is able to sift through the bad advice and discover the real answer to the age-old question, "What do women want?" And he does it all while drinking a beer. Brace yourself, ladies, cause this is how men think. Hailed by critics and audiences alike, THE MALE INTELLECT: AN OXYMORON? is a rare thing; a clever combination of theater and stand-up comedy that is laugh out loud funny, provocative and thoughtful, all at once. There are two types of people who should rush and see it - men and women.

As the play opens we find ROBERT is an everyman who has lost sight of the bigger picture. He's been bombarded by so much propaganda and hype and spin he can't remember who he is or what he believes in. Does he have a purpose? Can he think for himself? Is the truth in the details or in the pudding? He hasn't a clue. He racks his brain searching for answers. Instead he finds voices. Inner voices who pull him into a hysterical alternative universe in search of the bigger picture.

With mesmerizing ease he portrays his VOICE OF REASON, his COMMON SENSE, his INNER IDIOT, his INNER CHILD and his INNER ASSHOLE. They all take turns beating the hornet's nest of hype and spin with the big stick of truth so he can wake up from the coma of modern day life. It's a head trip - on a banana peel.

Located between Philadelphia and New York, Bucks County Playhouse opened in 1939 in a converted 1790 gristmill after a group of community activists, led by Broadway orchestrator Don Walker and playwright Moss Hart, rallied to save the building. The Playhouse quickly became one of the country's most famous regional theaters, featuring a roster of American theatrical royalty including Helen Hayes, Kitty Carlisle, Colleen Dewhurst, Shirley Booth, Lillian Gish, Grace Kelly, Robert Redford, Bert Lahr, Walter Matthau, Angela Lansbury, Bernadette Peters, Alan Alda, Tyne Daly, Liza Minnelli and Audra McDonald and remained in continuous operation until December 2010. Terrence McNally's Mothers and Sons, starring Tyne Daly, received its world premiere at the Playhouse in 2013 and opened on Broadway in February 2014, where it was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Play. This returned the Playhouse to its roots as an incubator for Broadway, which included 1951′s The Fourposter starring Jessica Tandy and Hume Cronyn, Neil Simon's first play Come Blow Your Horn, and Barefoot in the Park starring Robert Redford and Elizabeth Ashley.
