Kenneth Lonergan's LOBBY HERO Will Play PCS Theater
Lobby Hero features Tristan Sieben as Jeff, Joe Henderson as William, Sabrina Caruso as Dawn, and Andy De as Bill.
PCS Theater will soon present Lobby Hero, written by acclaimed playwright Kenneth Lonergan and presented through Dramatists Play Service. The production runs May 1 through May 16, 2026, and is directed by John Parkinson. Lobby Hero features Tristan Sieben as Jeff, Joe Henderson as William, Sabrina Caruso as Dawn, and Andy De as Bill.
Set in the lobby of a Manhattan apartment building, Lobby Hero follows Jeff, a luckless young security guard who becomes entangled in a local murder investigation. As his tightly wound supervisor is called to testify against his troubled brother, and a rookie police officer must stand up to her seasoned partner, loyalties are tested and moral lines blur. In a world where truth proves elusive, justice comes at a personal cost.
Director John Parkinson describes Lobby Hero as a deeply human and thought-provoking work: “I think the answer is that plays like this are an ineffable genre that I’d describe as, ‘kinda like life happening onstage.’ There are moments of levity between heavy matters, people you can’t quite form a solid opinion on, and no easy answers. That’s where theatre, especially intimate theatre like what the Second Stage space at PCS affords, is especially primed to reach us in ways we might not expect.”
Parkinson adds: “Good plays present answers to big questions. Great plays ask big questions. Lobby Hero does exactly that. There’s no easy answer. But let’s ask.”
Reflecting on the play’s continued relevance, he notes that although it was written more than two decades ago, its themes resonate strongly today, exploring isolation, connection, and the complexity of doing what is right in a complicated world.
Lobby Hero contains mature themes, including strong language and mentions of death. The play also addresses issues such as police brutality, racial discrimination, sexual harassment, and the nature of truth and perception. Audience discretion is advised. Approximately 2 hours and 25 minutes. PCS Theater Second Stage (Only accessible by stairs)
