When the scent of clove cigarettes and incense wafted through the air, great intellectual haiku were written on tattered coffee stained napkins. This was the setting that launched the careers of many of our folk favorites: James Taylor, Jim Croce, Harry Chapin, Cat Stephens, Bob Dylan, Arlo Guthrie and more. Join Jim Witter in his celebration of some of the most loved folk favorites and see why numerous presenters have made JIM WITTER'S MUSICAL JOURNEYS a staple of their season year after consecutive year.
Jim Witter has shown his range with previous performances at the State Theatre. He sang the songs of Elton John and Billy Joel in Piano Men and Piano Men II and took us back in time with Feelin' Groovy, singing the hits of Simon and Garfunkel. Now he goes even further back with this celebration of some of the most-loved folk classics.
Whether it be his country music, contemporary Christian, or everything in between, Jim's versatility as an artist has allowed him the opportunity to reach out and share his music and his infectious personality with audiences of all ages across Canada and the United States. His unique approach and comfortable rapport makes each member of his audience feel as though they are a part of a private concert in the comfort of their own living room. This, along with his rich, powerful voice and ease of manner at the piano, make him a favorite with theatre goers everywhere.
