A CHRISTMAS CAROL to Open at Doylestown Theatre Academy This Winter
Stephen Casey directs and choreographs the production, with Jaime Rogers serving as music director.
Registration is still open for young performers ages 8-18 to join Doylestown Theatre Academy's upcoming production of A Christmas Carol the Musical, with performances December 19 and 20 at Lenape Middle School.
Doylestown Theatre Academy (DTA) will once again bring Alan Menken and Lynn Ahrens' musical adaptation of Charles Dickens' beloved holiday classic to the stage this winter. The production will bring together young performers from throughout Bucks County, including students from Central Bucks and neighboring school districts.
And there is still room for more young actors to join the cast.
For DTA, A Christmas Carol is more than a holiday performance--it is an opportunity for young performers to experience what it is like to be part of a large-scale musical theatre production. Students will take part in a structured, collaborative rehearsal process and work with an experienced creative team as they prepare for performances in December.
This year's production will also feature dancers from Fitzpatrick's School of Irish Dance, giving DTA performers the opportunity to share the stage with talented young dancers from the local performing arts community.
The production is led by Stephen Casey, director and choreographer, with Jaime Rogers serving as music director and co-producer. The creative team also includes Becca Dunst, scenic designer, and Kevin Handy, co-producer and head of carpentry.
DTA is committed to providing young performers with a professional-level performance experience and rehearsal process in a supportive and collaborative environment. Students from different schools and communities come together to create a production that gives them the chance to build friendships, develop their skills, and experience the excitement of performing in a full-scale musical.
For students who love to sing, act, dance--or simply want to try something new--A Christmas Carol offers the opportunity to be part of a full-scale production, collaborate with young performers from across the region, and experience the excitement of bringing a professionally produced show to the stage.
Registration is currently open for ages 8-18, and spots are still available. Interested students of all experience levels are encouraged to register and become part of this year's cast.
Performances of A Christmas Carol the Musical will take place December 19 and 20 at Lenape Middle School (313 W. State Street, Doylestown, PA)
