Famed composer Ramin Djawadi won an Emmy® Award tonight for his exceptional musical work on the eighth and final season of HBO®'s hit series Game of Thrones. Ramin's score for the season's third episode 'The Long Night' won him the award for 'Outstanding Music Composition For A Series (Original Dramatic Score)', marking the second consecutive year that he has won in this category. The episode featured his incredible 9-minute composition 'The Night King', which went viral immediately after debuting on the show and quickly emerged as a fan-favorite. Game of Thrones led this year's list of nominees with a record-breaking 32 total nominations.

Crystal made his Broadway debut in 2004 with his autobiographical hit show, 700 Sundays. which earned him a 2005 Tony Award for Special Theatrical Event. After a smash record-breaking debut, Crystal brought the show back to Broadway's Imperial Theatre in 2013 for a sold-out limited nine-week run, which was filmed and presented by HBO.

The journey from the 21st Century back to Hollywood's glamourous golden age is an inspiring one when your "tour guides" are the legendary Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire - portrayed by Darien Crago and Jeremy Benton in Westchester Broadway Theatre's production of Lynnette Barkley and Christopher McGovern's Backwards in High Heels: The Ginger Musical, running August 13-September 20.

Just last week, Des Moines Performing Arts, in partnership with the Des Moines Symphony, hosted a special guest with Iowa ties at the state's largest single-day concert event. The Yankee Doodle Pops concert on the Iowa State Capitol's West Terrace, welcomed three-time Tony Award®-winning composer Jason Robert Brown to conduct the orchestra in selections from Broadway's THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY, featuring soloists Christiane Noll and Hugh Panaro. The musical, winner of the 2014 Tony Award for Best Original Score and Best Orchestrations, is famously set in Iowa and will launch its national tour at the Des Moines Civic Center November 28 - December 5. After seeing Well-Strung's debut music video, Kristin Chenoweth, Tony & Emmy winning star of Wicked and Glee, invited the group to appear in her two sold-out Provincetown concerts this past August at Town Hall. HBO has confirmed the debut date for BILLY CRYSTAL 700 SUNDAYS, with the special slated to premiere on Saturday, April 19 (9:00-11:00 p.m. ET/PT). 700 SUNDAYS is an original two-act play in which Billy plays numerous characters that have influenced who he is today. It deals with his youth, growing up in the jazz world of Manhattan, his teenage years, and finally adulthood. It is about family and fate, loving and loss. Check out highlights from the special below!
