Michael James Scott (Genie) surprised a lucky guest – the 888th ticketholder scanned at the theatre that afternoon – with a cruise aboard Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, the Disney Wish. The giveaway was announced during curtain call in front of the sold-out audience.

This morning, Good Morning America shared the first-ever televised broadcast of the magic carpet flight during 'A Whole New World' in Aladdin, featuring new cast members Michael Maliakel as Aladdin and Shoba Narayan as Jasmine. They were then joined by Michael James Scott as the Genie, who led the cast into Times Square to perform 'Friend Like Me'.

Performers Milo Alosi, Tia Altinay, Lissa DeGuzman, Bonita Hamilton, Mduduzi Madela, Brandon McCall, Michael James Scott and Adrienne Walker will appear on ABC's Queen Family Singalong, which will also feature performance by Darren Criss, Adam Lambert, Derek Hough, JoJo Siwa, Pentatonix, and more.

The New Amsterdam Theatre was shining, shimmering, splendid once again last night as Disney's smash hit musical comedy Aladdin returned to Broadway, following the unprecedented 18-month shutdown of the theater industry.

The Broadway cast of Aladdin began rehearsals this week for the company’s reopening later this month. As previously announced, Aladdin will resume performances on Tuesday, September 28 at the New Amsterdam Theatre.
