The Atlanta Opera is presenting the Southeast premiere of The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs, the opera that won Mason Bates and Mark Campbell a 2019 Grammy Award, in a new production from General & Artistic Director Tomer Zvulun. The opera runs through May 8.  

As the year 2020 draws to a close, stars past and present of New York City Opera (NYCO) have come to the aid of “The People’s Opera” by participating in Un Zoomo in Maschera, a word from the artists of New York City Opera, a special year-end fundraiser which will be released on social media today.

Washington National Opera opens its 2018-2019 season with a stunning new production by WNO Artistic Director Francesca Zambello of Verdi's La traviata, October 6-21, 2018, in the Kennedy Center Opera House. Tickets start at $45. From the famous brindisi drinking song to the heartbreaking 'Addio del passato' aria, the original 'Pretty Woman' proves it's better to have loved once than not at all. Verdi's romantic masterpiece and familiar tunes are as timeless as the storyline is contemporary, pitting tensions of social class against Violetta's personal sacrifice.

This fall, Seattleites can hear opera in a Central-District venue that once housed performances by Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald. But the location isn't the only new thing about Seattle Opera's As One,which will be presented in the historic Washington Hall. As One, a chamber opera with only two singers, tells the story of Hannah, a transwoman, and her journey to self-understanding. Premieres, the New York based music theater organization whose mission is 'to bring new music theater to light,' presents this season's Inner Voices, the biannual series of solo works featuring news teams of playwrights and composers. He has toured the country clad in spandex covering all three fathers in the National Tour of Mamma Mia!and in a pinstriped suit in the National Tour of Guys & Dolls. He has performed in regional theatres across the country in a wide range of roles from Brick in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof to El Gallo in The Fantasticks. Favorite roles include Beast (Beauty and the Beast), Sky (Guys & Dolls), Kent (King Lear), Harold Hill (The Music Man), Higgins (My Fair Lady) and many others, but he doesn't want to bore you.

Virginia's Tony Award®-winning Signature Theatre, through its groundbreaking American Musical Voices Project (AMVP), presents the musical comedy And the Curtain Rises (formerly known as Wheatley's Folly). Beginning performances on Thursday, March 17, 2011, And the Curtain Rises marks the third production presented as part of Signature's AMVP, the largest commissioning program for new musicals in the country, following Michael John LaChiusa's Giant in 2009 and Ricky Ian Gordon's Sycamore Trees last year.
