Fathom Events will premiere a new documentary, 'Allegiance to Broadway: The Dream. The Story. The Journey of A Musical,' by director/filmmaker Greg Vander Veer on Tuesday, December 4th at 7:30 pm (local time) in cinemas across the country.  'Allegiance to Broadway' will give audiences an in-depth look into the making of George Takei's ('Star Trek,' 'Heroes') moving Broadway musical, which also starred Tony Award winner Lea Salonga (Miss Saigon, Mulan) and Telly Leung (Aladdin, Godspell, 'Glee').

The original cast album of the new musical Allegiance, with music & lyrics by Jay Kuo, was recorded at MSR Studios last month. The show's stars gathered at Barnes & Noble today to celebrate the recording, and BroadwayWorld brings you performance footage from the event!

Performances of the new American musical Allegiance began at the Longacre Theatre (220 West 48th Street) on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 with an official Opening Night set for Sunday, November 8, 2015. Allegiance stars Tony and Olivier Award winner Lea Salonga (Miss Saigon, Les Miserables) in her long-awaited return to Broadway joined by 'Star Trek' icon George Takei in his Broadway debut at age 78, and Broadway and 'Glee' starTelly Leung. Allegiance is the vibrant and unforgettable story of one family's resilience in the face of seemingly-insurmountable odds, inspired by Takei's real-life experience as a Japanese American during World War II.

On Tuesday night, September 15, Ambassador and Mrs. Mario L. De Leon Jr., Consul General of the Philippines held a cocktail reception at their residence for the shining star of the Philippines, Lea Salonga celebrating her return to Broadway in the new musical Allegiance.

Lea Salonga recently sat down to talk about the musical ALLEGIANCE's inspiring song, 'Gaman.' The video below also shows the Tony Award-winner and cast singing the song at every stage in the show's process. Check out the interview and performance below!

Allegiance - A New American Musical has been eyeing a Broadway run since it premiered at San Diego's Old Globe last fall. Since then, a New York City reading was held, led by Lea Salonga, George Takei and Telly Leung, all of whom starred in the San Diego production; there was also a recent backers screening in Austin. Late last motnh, George Takei, Telly Leung, Melinda Doolittle and Lindsay Mendez gathered to preview tracks from ALLEGIANCE at Google in New York City, hosted by Sirius XM's Julie James.
