The Hollywood Bowl hosted its 15th Annual Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame concert last night, June 21, featuring Hall of Fame inductees Emmy and Tony-winner Kristin Chenoweth, iconic all-female band The Go-Go's, and the eclectic band Pink Martini. Presenters included Oscar and Emmy winner Helen Hunt, Grammy-nominated singer Natasha Bedingfield, Hollywood icon Barbara Eden, actress/comedienne Carol Burnett, and Oscar-nominated actress Taraji P. Henson, as well as a special guest appearance by Lea Michele.

Vulture.com welcomed actress Stephanie J. Block and composer Jason Robert Brown for 'The Art of Songwriting' at the first Vulture Festival, a weekend of pop culture events in New York City on May 10 and 11. During the event, Brown spoke to New York magazine theater critic Jesse Green about composing for musicals and played and sang some of his tunes with additional vocal accompaniment by Block. Today in 1984, The Rink opend at the Martin Beck Theatre (now the Al Hirschfeld Theatre), where it ran for 204 performances. With a book by Terrence McNally, lyrics by Fred Ebb, and music by John Kander, the musical focuses on Anna, the owner of a dilapidated roller skating rink on the boardwalk of a decaying seaside resort, who has decided to sell it to developers. Complicating her plans are her prodigal daughter Angel, who returns to town seeking to reconnect with the people and places she long ago left behind. Through a series of flashbacks, revelations, and minimal forward-moving plot development, the two deal with their pasts in their attempt to reconcile and move on with their lives.

The musical theatre treasure CABARET kicks off the Marriott Theatre's 2014 season, opening tonight, January 22 and running through March 16 at 10 Marriott Drive, Lincolnshire. CABARET is Kander and Ebb's legendary musical about English cabaret performer Sally Bowles, American writer Clifford Bradshaw, and the decadence of 1929 Berlin. The production is directed by David H.
