Today, singer-songwriter Nikki Jean follows her Rhymesayers Entertainment debut project, Beautiful Prison, with a self-directed short film celebrating women of color: Get Free. The film features a dozen other artists and entrepreneurs including Goldie Patrick, Veronica Zacharias, Ama Law, Tashira Halyard, April Manuel, Ebony Westbrook, Onrae Watkins, Kacey Williams, Zewditu Jewel, Anika Hobbs, and more. As this project continues to develop, Nikki Jean hopes to use her platform to share the stories of other inspired women.

Now through March 2, thousands of Chicago-area kids, parents and teachers are going to be grooving to Mr. Chickee's Funny Money, Chicago Children's Theatre's all-new, R&B family musical based on the popular children's book by Newbery Award-winner Christopher Paul Curtis. The First Wives Club - A New Musical will extend its run by an additional week due to popular demand. The Broadway-bound musical features a book by Tony Award winner Rupert Holmes and a score by Brian Holland, Lamont Dozier and Eddie Holland. Directed by Francesca Zambello with choreography by Lisa Stevens and music direction by Ron Melrose, The First Wives Club will now run through Aug. 30.
