Just last week, Gwon previewed some of the new songs at Green Room 42, featuring cast member Taylor Iman Jones, plus Dave Thomas Brown, Arielle Jacobs, Jessica Vosk, Bonnie Milligan, Ben Fankhauser, Deborah S. The cold never bothered them anyway! The boldest of the belters braved the storm to come and sing their faces off for our All Open Mic Party. The night was filled with dulcet tones from some of our favorite regulars and some new friends. We even had a few special guests, we'll call the Avenue Q-ties, Jamie Glickman, Lacretta and our very own Imari Hardon.
The indomitable and generous spirit of the theatre community - those onstage, backstage and in the audience - shined brightly as the 29th annual Gypsy of the Year competition celebrated six weeks of fundraising work of 56 Broadway, Off-Broadway and national touring companies for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Birdland, the New York City landmark music room, was the place for Broadway and concert stage star Daniel Reichard to perform his annual New York City holiday show December 17, 18 and 19. Reichard, who created the role of Bob Gaudio in the Original Broadway Cast of Jersey Boys and currently tours with the vocal group, 'The Midtown Men,' has celebrated the holidays with a concert for the past nine years.
