The Wallis Annenberg Center for Performing Arts presents the West Coast premiere of The Wallis' production of WITNESS UGANDA, a groundbreaking documentary musical by Matt Gould and Griffin Matthews starring twelve-time Grammy nominee Ledisi, Jamar Williams (Wild Goose Dreams), Amber Iman (Hamilton) and Emma Hunton (Wicked), directed by Matthews with music direction by Gould, from Tuesday, February 5 - Sunday, February 24, 2019, in The Wallis's Lovelace Studio Theater. After a successful Off-Broadway run, this new and revised production documents the story of a man battling to find his place in a world full of injustice and inhumanity.

Second Stage Theatre will present the world premiere production of INVISIBLE THREAD, a new musical by Matt Gould and Griffin Matthews, in association with American Repertory Theater, directed by Tony Award winner Diane Paulus (Finding Neverland, Pippin). INVISIBLE THREAD will begin previews on Saturday, October 31st at Second Stage's Tony Kiser Theatre (305 West 43rd street). Opening night is scheduled for Wednesday, December 2nd. Matt Gould and Griffin Matthews' INVISIBLE THREAD, formerly titled WITNESS UGANDA, is headed on the trip of a lifetime before it lands back in the States for its off-Broadway premiere at Second Stage this fall. The cast has surpassed its $45,000 crowdfunding goal and will be traveling to Uganda to connect with the students that inspired the show. Andrew Keenan-Bolger (Tuck Everlasting, Newsies) has released a new music video by composers Matt Gould and Griffin Matthews (Witness Uganda). Gould and Matthews received the Richard Rodgers Award in 2012 and 2014 for their Broadway bound musical, Witness Uganda. The video, Invisible Thread, is part of a fundraising effort for the educational organization, UgandaProject. Check it out below!

Executive Producers Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Godspell, Pippin) and Bruce Cohen (American Beauty, Milk, Silver Linings Playbook) just presented an all-star lineup for Uprising of Love: A Benefit Concert for Global Equality night, September 15th at Broadway's Gershwin Theatre. The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University has released a sneak peek at the world premiere of Witness Uganda, created by Matt Gould and Griffin Matthews, directed by A.R.T. Artistic Director Diane Paulus, with choreography by Darrell Grand Moultrie and Music Director, Remy Kurs. The production begins performances at the Loeb Drama Center at 64 Brattle Street, Cambridge on February 4, and will run through March 16.
