On a bitterly cold London evening, schoolteacher Kyra Hollis (Mahira Kakkar) receives an unexpected visit from her former lover, Tom Sergeant (Greg Wood), a successful and charismatic restaurateur. As the evening progresses, the two attempt to rekindle their once passionate relationship with food and wine, only to find themselves locked in a dangerous battle of opposing ideologies and mutual desires.

TV: Off-Broadway Shines Bright at the 2019 Lortel Awards!

The 2019 Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway were handed out last night to recipients in 19 categories, with one special award and three honorary awards also bestowed. The Lortel Awards were distributed in a ceremony at NYU Skirball Center hosted by Drama Desk Award-nominated writer and performer of The New One, Mike Birbiglia. The Lucille Lortel Awards are produced by the Off-Broadway League by special arrangement with the Lucille Lortel Theatre Foundation. Additional support is provided by TDF.

Zach Appelman, Richard Bekins, Mia Dillon and Beth Riesgraf lead the cast. The world premiere play will perform Thursday, January 10, through Sunday, February 3, 2019.

In a sculptural costume designed by artist Arlene Shechet, two-time Academy Award Winner Dianne Wiest has been perming pieces from Samuel Beckett's Happy Days this week (through October 26).  The action of the play takes place within and around Madison Square Park's reflecting pool, which has been emptied by Shechet for her new, site-specific installation Full Steam Ahead.

He also appeared on Broadway in Trelawny of the 'Wells,' The Shadow Box, The Secret Garden, Falsettos, and his solo concerts Dress Casual, Celebrating Sondheim, and Mamaloshen. Other theatre credits include The Split, Savages, Enemy of the People, and most recently The Tempest at Classic Stage Company. Mandy continues to tour his concerts Dress Casual, Celebrating Sondheim, Mamaloshen, and An Evening with Patti LuPone and Mandy Patinkin.

Happy Birthday, Stark Sands! In 2007, Sands received a nomination for a Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play for his role in the Broadway revival of Journey's End. Additional theater credits include the 2009 musical adaptation of Bonnie & Clyde at the La Jolla Playhouse, The Classic Stage Company's production of The Tempestwhich earned him the Actors' Equity Foundation's St. Clair Bayfield Award, which honors the best performance by an actor in a Shakespearean play in the New York metropolitan area. From June 25 to July 12, 2009, Sands appeared in the Shakespeare in the Park's production of Twelfth Night, featuring Anne Hathaway, Audra McDonald and Raul Esparza. Sands played the role of Tunny in the Broadway production of American Idiot. Most recently, Sand received a Tony nomination for playing Charlie Price, in the musical Kinky Boots, which opened on Broadway at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre on April 4, 2013.

Now in its 16th season, Lincoln Center's acclaimed series American Songbook continues to expand its scope in celebrating the best in American singing and songwriting. Just last night, three-time Tony Award nominee Judy Kuhn returned to American Songbook with a new show celebrating the work of three generations of this extraordinary songwriting family. Under the musical direction of Todd Almond, the evening included classic favorites as well as rarely-heard songs. Ms. Kuhn returns to the concert stage after a critically lauded year during which she starred as Fosca in the first New York revival of Passion at Classic Stage Company and in the Public Theater's new musical Fun Home. She will reprise her Lucille Lortel Award-winning Fun Home role on Broadway in the spring of 2015.
