Last night all eyes were on New York City and the 71st TONY Awards, but in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma at the Kristin Chenoweth Theater at Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center the hometown girl hosted a TONY viewing party to launch her Broadway Bootcamp this week. In attendance were 45 students who will participate in a series of classes and performance led by industry professionals who flew in and are arriving for the week's activities. They include, fresh from her Isabelle Stevenson Award win, Broadway's Baayork Lee, Tony winner, Faith Prince, Tony nominees, John Tartaglia and Lara Teeter, director, Richard Jay-Alexander, music directors, Michael Orland and Mary-Mitchell Campbell, Broadway photographer, Bruce Glikas, and even Craig Burns from Telsey Casting who will be participating via satellite. 

While everyone was grabbing drinks or a snack from the kitchen during the Tony Awards commercial breaks, Creative Arts hosts King Georges Brian d'Arcy James and Jonathan Groff were presenting Tony Awards in the categories of Best Lighting Design Play, Best Lighting Design in a Musical, Best Book of a Musical, Best Orchestrations, and Best Choreography.

Before the Tony Awards broadcast began on CBS, the American Theatre Wing handed out a handful of Creative Arts Awards, along with the Lifetime Achievement and the Isabelle Stevenson Award. Check out all of the pre-broadcast acceptance speeches below. The legendary James Earl Jones was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award and Baayork Lee was this year's recipient of the Isabelle Stevenson Award.

With a full orchestra led by Broadway musical supervisor and conductor Kevin Stites and lighting & sound design by Matt Berman, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to support this worthy company as they head into the future. The new documentary Marvin Hamlisch: What He Did For Love is the American Masters series' Season 27 finale, premiering nationally Friday, December 27, 2013, 9-10:30 p.m. on PBS (check local listings) and available on DVD January 14, 2014 via PBS Distribution. The film had its New York City premiere last night, and attendees included:Quincy Jones, David Zippel, Annaleigh Ashford, Baayork Lee & more. The ultimate 'Singular Sensation,' A CHORUS LINE, is dancing its way onto Oklahoma's Civic Center Music Hall stage this summer. The first ever Tony Award Documentary Film Series launched May 9 as part of the 2011 Tony Awards Showcase at the Times Square Visitors Center and Mini-Museum. The Tony Award Documentary Films Series features three films that examine what it's like to be behind-the-scenes on a Tony-eligible Broadway musical. The first film to be screened was Finding Billy, taking viewers on the journey in the search for the young male leads in Billy Elliot the Musical. The screening was immediately followed by a panel discussion comprised of moderator Nora Brennan (Children's Casting Director for Billy Elliot), and Broadway cast members Tade Biesinger (Billy), Jacob Clemente (Billy), Stephen Hanna (Older Billy), and Joel Hatch (George).

Today, we bring a look at the second talkback in the series which took place last week, May 16, following a screening of Every Little Step, which follows the real-life dancers as they struggled through auditions for the Broadway revival of A Chorus Line. The film also takes a look at the history of the show and the creative minds behind the original and revival Broadway shows. This panel was moderated by John Breglio, Every Little Step executive producer, and producer of the 2006 revival of A Chorus Line. Panalists included Baayork Lee, the original 'Connie' from the 1976 Tony Award-winning production of A Chorus Line and choreographer for the 2006 revival, and Donna McKechnie, who won the Tony Award for her performance as 'Cassie' in the original 1976 production of A Chorus Line.

Avid Theatricals presents the Off-Broadway premiere of Lucky Guy, a new musical comedy, written and directed by Willard Beckham. Performances will begin on Thursday, April 28, 2011 and continue through Sunday, July 24, 2011 at the Little Shubert Theatre (422 West 42nd Street, between 9th & Dyer Avenues).
