Before Hamilton and In The Heights, there was Freestyle Love Supreme, the highly-acclaimed improv sensation conceived by Anthony Veneziale and created by Thomas Kail, Lin Manuel Miranda and Anthony Veneziale.

Utkarsh Ambudkar took to the stage during the Oscars to recap some of the things that had happened throughout the night and performed a freestyle rap!

The Booth Theatre was the place to be last night, as a new kind of show improved its way to the Broadway stage. A blend of hip-hop, improvisational theater, music, and vocal stylings, Freestyle Love Supreme celebrated its opening night, joined by special guests Daveed Diggs, Wayne Brady, Christopger Jackson, James Monroe Igleheart, and of course, Lin-Manuel Miranda.

Alright, alright! To celebrate the Broadway opening of Freestyle Love Supreme, cast members from the Broadway production of Hamilton came together for a special performance on the stage of the Richard Rodgers Theatre. Check out the video to see Andrew Chappelle, Thayne Jasperson, Giuseppe Bausilio, Roddy Kennedy, and Raven Thomas get in on all of the freestyle fun!

Lin-Manuel Miranda returns to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to face off against The Roots' Tarik Trotter  in 'The Wheel of Freestyle.' In the competition, each is given three random words they've never seen before, like 'Daenerys Targaryen' and 'Pikachu,' and they must work them all into a freestyle rap. Plus, Lin-Manuel Miranda makes a major announcement about his return to Broadway.

On Friday, October 17, Pivot will debut two new half hour series during the 10 p.m. hour, Freestyle Love Supreme, a new comedic improv series inspired by the acclaimed stage show from Tony and Grammy award-winners, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Thomas Kail. And Welcome to Fairfax, a series that explores the vibrant and arts district of Los Angeles and the entrepreneurs who work and live on these blocks. Improvisational hip-hop troup, Freestyle Love Supreme, participated in a virtual round table discussion on Wednesday with Future of Storytelling (FoST), where members discussed their best moments on stage. The group performs at various venues in NYC, and even appears on the Pivot Network in a ten-episode series that exposes the nation to the much talked about live show. On stage, five performers, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Chris Jackson, Chris 'Shockwave' Sullivan, Andrew Bancroft, Arthur Lewis, and Bill Sherman, take the crowd on a non-stop hip-hop improv ride, spinning cues from the audience into instantaneous riffs and fully realized musical numbers.

Tonight, March 8, an original special Freestyle Love Supreme airs on Pivot at 10pm ET. The high-energy, completely improvised hip hop show, from the two creators of the award-winning Broadway hit 'In the Heights,' was filmed Thursday night in NYC.
