Good morning, BroadwayWorld! This weekend's big news: The HAMILTON parody SHAMILTON arrives in the Windy City, and Audra McDonald kicks off her 2017 tour with her hubby Will Swenson in California!

BREAKING THROUGH, a world premiere musical, features a book by Kirsten Guenther, and music and lyrics by Cliff Downs and Katie Kahanovitz. The production is choreographed by Tyce Diorio and directed by Sheldon Epps. Preview performances began October 27, 2015 with the official press opening on November 1, 2015 at The Pasadena Playhouse (39 S. Last month, twenty of the brightest talents on Broadway were featured in Broadway Sings Bruno Mars, the latest concert in the Broadway Sings series. The tribute series takes the music of well-known music icons and creates new, unique arrangements and orchestrations by twisting the style to fit the strength of the performer. Previous concerts have included Adele, Stevie Wonder, and Justin Timberlake; this November, producer Corey Mach (Godspell, Wicked) and music director Joshua Stephen Kartes will present Broadway Sings Sara Bareilles.?

Earlier this week, Tony Nominee Laura Osnes and music director Benjamin Rauhala hosted THE BROADWAY PRINCESS PARTY at 54 Below, featuring Ruthie Ann Miles, Caissie Levy, Adam Jacobs, Courtney Reed and over a dozen more princesses! Below, check out performances from the night!

Kathie Lee Gifford discussed the closing of her new Broadway musical SCANDALOUS on the Today show on NBC. 'So many of the brand new shows this fall really, really have struggled and are posting closings,' she lamented. Ghost the Musical, beginning previews March 15th with the opening date set for April 23rd, is directed by Tony Award winner Matthew Warchus (God of Carnage, The Norman Conquests, Boeing-Boeing) and choreographed by Ashley Wallen (The X Factor, Kylie Minogue). Ghost The Musical is created by a team of Grammy and Academy Award winners, with a brand-new original score by Dave Stewart (half of the multi-Grammy Award winning Eurythmics) and Glen Ballard (Michael Jackson's Man In The Mirror, Alanis Morissette's Jagged Little Pill), with a book by Bruce Joel Rubin (Ghost, Jacob's Ladder, The Time Traveler's Wife), who has adapted his Academy Award winning original screenplay for the stage. This brand new score also includes the iconic song 'Unchained Melody,' famously performed in the film by The Righteous Brothers.
