A GRAND NIGHT FOR SINGING Comes to Act II Playhouse

Act II Playhouse will round out its 2024-2025 Season with its latest production, “Rodgers & Hammerstein’s A Grand Night for Singing”.  The production features Music by Richard Rodgers, Lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II.

Act II Playhouse Stages Production of BUYER AND CELLAR

Act II Playhouse in Ambler, PA announces their latest stage production, Buyer and Cellar, written by Jonathan Tolins, directed by Tony Braithwaite and starring Zachary Chiero. The show runs from March 1 through April 2.

When Tony Braithwaite set out to direct Biloxi Blues at Act II Playhouse, he had no idea what a tribute it would become. Legendary playwright, Neil Simon, passed away a week before opening. Something Braithwaite feared as Simon was upping in age, but with the days leading up to production and the Opening Night reception, he did this Bard justice. As did this impeccable cast and production team.

2018 Barrymore Award Nominations Announced For Excellence In Theatre

Theatre Philadelphia, the region's marketing and leadership organization for theatre, proudly announces the 2018 nominees for the Barrymore Award for Excellence in Theatre. Celebrating the rich, diverse professional theatre scene in the Greater Philadelphia region, the Barrymore Ceremony will be held on Monday, November 5th at 7pm at the Bok Building at 1901 S. 9th Street in South Philadelphia. Guests will continue the festivities with an after-party Celebration at the same location. Tickets for artists, supporters, and the general public are now on sale at www.theatrephiladelphia.org.

Tribe of Fools Debuts FISHTOWN at Philadelphia Fringe

One of Philadelphia's most athletic theatre companies is set to debut a new work that deals with technology and loneliness at the 2017 Philadelphia Fringe Festival. Tribe of Fools is set to present its latest work Fishtown September 8-25 at The Louis Bluver Theatre at the Drake, 302 South Hicks Street. 

11th Hour Closes Season with Next Step Concert Series Performance of BROADCAST

11th Hour Theatre Company's 12th season comes to a close with its final Next Step Concert Series performance. This time the series features a new musical by Nathan Christensen and Scott Murphy, Broadcast.  Broadcast comes to the Next Step Concert Series June 23-25. Steve Pacek, 11th Hour's Associate Artistic Director and Co-Founder, directs. Amanda Morton is the Music Director. The concert will be at Christ Church Neighborhood House, 20 N American St.  Tickets cost $19-34 and are available online at www.11thhourtheatrecompany.org or by phone 267-987-9865.
