The Lion King is King of the Musical Jungle

One of the most highly anticipated films of 2019 is Disney's live action adaptation of their hit film turned musical, 'The Lion King.' Jon Favreau is directing a new take on Disney's 1994 classic animated film, featuring pioneering filmmaking techniques.

Casting has been announced for the premiere engagement of Disney's THE LION KING at The Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall. THE LION KING will leap onto the Van Wezel stage on Thursday, March 14 for a 3-week engagement through Sunday, March 31.

THE LION KING opened at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center in Appleton on February 7 and will continue to play through February 24. Whether this is your first time seeing it or your 50th, it is an elaborate, engaging, immersive experience audiences are unlikely to forget.

Details are emerging about the upcoming Lion King live-action film remake. Now, Skyler Shuler of The DisInsider is reporting that Scar's big number, Be Prepared, will be featured in the film.

Every kid with a performer's heart deserves to experience three things in their childhood: access to an incredible arts program, a passionate mentor, and a really great Andrew Lloyd Webber musical. For me, that was the Springfield (Missouri) Little Theatre, Beth D., and The Phantom of the Opera. I wish for all of today's youth to find the arts and an inspiring mentor. As for Webber for this generation, there is School of Rock The Musical, which actually touches on all of the above. The tour is visiting the National Theatre in Washington, DC this month and packs the biggest dreams and highest professionalism into the tiniest bodies.

Casting has been announced for the return engagement of Disney's The Lion King in the Fox Cities. The Lion King will leap onto the Fox Cities P.A.C. stage Thursday, Feb. 7 for a 3-week engagement through Sunday, Feb. 24.
