Amas Musical Theatre, in assocation with Tall Tree Productions is presenting the Off Broadway premiere of Distant Thunder: A New American Musical written by the mother and son team – Lynne Taylor-Corbettt and Shaun Taylor-Corbett. Amas Musical Theatre has announced the cast and creative team for the Off-Broadway premiere of Distant Thunder: A New American Musical, the first mainstream Indigenous musical in New York City.

Amas Musical Theatre and the Amas Musical Theatre Lab, in association with Jeremiah James and Rashad V. Chambers, will present developmental lab readings of It Happened In Key West in the Elaine Castilla Orbach Studio at The Theater Center. There will be two performances: Thursday, October 27th at 2:00 and Friday, October 28th at 1:00pm.

Lyric Theatre's latest New Work is the Native musical DISTANT THUNDER. Distant Thunder tells the story of Darrell Waters. The young lawyer returns home to a community he doesn't remember and re-learns about his heritage, regaining new friendships and relationships along the way. Native culture is alive and on full display in this beautiful musical.

Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma will present the world premiere of the Native American Musical Distant Thunder in spring 2021 as part of the organization's New Works Initiative. Watch the cast of the world premiere Native American musical, DISTANT THUNDER perform 'Hold On'.

Amas Musical Theatre (Donna Trinkoff, Artistic Producer) in celebration of its 50th season, will present Distant Thunder with book by Lynne Taylor-Corbett and Shaun Taylor-Corbett, music and lyrics by Chris Wiseman and Shaun Taylor-Corbett, with additional music and lyrics by Robert Lindsey-Nassif and Michael Moricz, the fourth and final new musical in development included in this year's 'Dare to Be Different' series. Performances are Thursday, December 6 at 3pm & 7pm and Friday, December 7 at 3pm at A.R.T./New York Theatres (502 West 53rd Street - 10th Avenue & 53rd Street).

Theater Resources Unlimited will establish a new TRU scholarship fund at its annual TRU Love Benefit this November 4th at Caroline's on Broadway. Honorees at the benefit this year will be Baayork Lee and the National Asian Artists Project (NAAP) receiving the TRU Spirit of Theater Award, and John Chatterton and the Midtown International Theatre Festival (MITF) receiving the TRU Entrepreneur Award. The scholarship fund will be open to any candidates demonstrating financial need, and will include annual worthy candidates submitted by both NAAP and MITF.

Even before the first act of Godspell began, the energy was palpable in the room. I do not think I have seen a more packed audience at Westchester Broadway Theatre in quite a while; especially since most of the shows presented there are more conventional.

Westchester Broadway Theatre is thrilled to bring this timeless classic to the WBT stage!  Director John Fanelli, who has directed SOS productions ofPeter Pan, Big River and Ragtime, here at WBT, will be at the helm. The Associate Director/Choreographer is Jonathan Stahl. The Musical Director is Bill Stanley.

This immensely successful rock opera was the first major musical theatre offering from 3-time Grammy and Academy Award winner Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin, Children of Eden).
