Hallmark Channel's 'Countdown to Summer' Programming Event Lineup Adds New Film

As temperatures around the country begin to rise and people yearn for the longer days ahead, viewers will enjoy an entire month of summer-inspired movies when Hallmark Channel premieres four all-new original movies in May. The programming event kicks off with 'Paris, Wine & Romance' (working title) (Saturday, May 4, 9 p.m. ET/PT) followed by 'A Feeling of Home' (Saturday, May 11, 9 p.m. ET/PT), and 'Sailing into Love' (Saturday, May 18, 9 p.m. ET/PT), 'From Friend to Fiancé' (Saturday, May 25, 9 p.m. ET/PT) and 'Love in the Sun' (Monday, May 27, 9 p.m. ET/PT).'

Oxygen Media Expands Its True Crime Programming Slate

YouTube today announced that all of its forthcoming original series and specials will soon be available for fans around the world to watch for free with ads- just like they enjoy everything else on the platform. In addition, YouTube unveiled a new and returning slate of original series and specials focused on music, learning and personalities that will all be free with ads, including seasons 1 and 2 of “Cobra Kai” beginning this fall. The announcements were made on stage today at YouTube's annual Brandcast event by Chief Business Officer Robert Kyncl.

Disney+ has inked a two-year deal with David Gelb (“Chef's Table,” “Jiro Dreams of Sushi”), Brian McGinn (“Chef's Table,” “Amanda Knox”) and Jason Sterman (“13th,” “Five Came Back”) of Supper Club. Under the exclusive pact, the trio will create premium franchise-based and original-concept nonfiction programming for the streaming service as well as other platforms and networks within The Walt Disney Company.

Netflix today announced that it has entered into a multi-year overall deal with producer, director, and choreographer Kenny Ortega. Ortega is known for the High School Musical franchise, which earned him a Primetime Emmy and Directors Guild of America Award. Widely acclaimed for his genre-bending work in musicals, drama, comedy, and family programs, Ortega has directed and choreographed international hits including the Descendants trilogy, Newsies, and Hocus Pocus, and choreographed classic films including Dirty Dancing, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, and Pretty in Pink, among others. Truman Alfaro will serve as Ortega's development executive.
