River Oaks Chamber Orchestra concludes its 2013 – 2014 ROCO Chamber Series on Sunday, April 27 at 4 p.m. with a concert titled French Salonat Gremillion &Co. Fine Art Annex located at 2504 Nottingham. The performance, which showcases several French composers, incorporates works written for the oboe, bassoon and piano. The concert includes a co-commissioned premiere by John Steinmetz and music by Francis Poulenc, Theodore Lalliet and Stanislas Verroust. The performance features ROCO Founder, Artistic Director and Principal Oboist Alecia Lawyer, Principal Bassoonist Kristin Wolfe Jensen and PianistRodney Waters.

Marty Thomas presents DIVA is a weekly show at Industry Bar in midtown Manhattan. Featuring a cast of Alexa Green (WICKED, COMPANY), Kelly King (Babyface, Michael Bolton) and Marissa Rosen (MY BIG GAY ITALIAN WEDDING), it is hosted and produced by Marty Thomas (XANADU, WICKED, THE SECRET GARDEN). DIVA celebrates fabulous female vocalists paying tribute to some of histories most over the top icons! The cast performs a brand new show every week with exciting new guests rotating.

LA Opera will present two free concerts on April 13 featuring 'Great Opera Choruses,' with Resident Conductor Grant Gershon leading the LA Opera Chorus. Highlights will include beloved excerpts from Madame Butterfly, The Magic Flute and La Traviata, among other works. Best of all, audience members of all ages-and of any musical ability-will have the exciting opportunity to join in the fun by singing along with the pros to such famous pieces as the Anvil Chorus from Il Trovatore, 'Va pensiero' from Nabucco and the Toreador Song from Carmen. The 'Great Opera Choruses' concerts will be accompanied by LA Opera Assistant Conductor Jeremy Frank and will include soloists from LA Opera's Domingo-Colburn-Stein Young Artist Program.

On Thursday, March 13, the Houston Symphony will continue its legendary centennial celebration by performing alongside one of the leading figures in the recording industry, Steve Tyrell. Under the leadership of Houston Symphony Associate Conductor Robert Franz, Tyrell and the orchestra will perform American standards like 'You're So Nice to Come Home To,' 'The Way You Look Tonight' and 'I Get a Kick Out of You,' to name just a few. The Grammy Award-winning Tyrell will also invite his friends Diane Schuur, Judith Hill and Lew Soloff to the stage to share the evening with him as he sings the night away to timeless classics in this one-night only special performance.

Ravinia's 2014 season, dubbed 'Summer of Love/Season of Stars,' was announced today by Ravinia President and CEO Welz Kauffman. Brimming with talent and romance, the festival's 2014 schedule brings some the biggest names in the world of music as well as repertoire that explores the theme of great love in its various manifestations. No fewer than three musical incarnations of the most famous love story of all time, Romeo and Juliet, will be featured, with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra performing Tchaikovsky's Overture-Fantasy (July 27), a suite from Prokofiev's ballet setting of the story (July 16) and the score of West Side Story as the classic film is shown (July 17-18). In other examples of love, soprano Deborah Voigt describes it as 'Something Wonderful' on a Broadway evening (July 13), the legendary Broadway team of Lerner and Loewe will be celebrated (July 20), and Chanticleer even jabs at the battle of the sexes in an evening titled 'She Said/He Said' (July 6). In fact, love lurks, longs and lingers across genres in most of the more than 130 events that Ravinia will present in 2014, its 110th year and its 78th as the summer residence of the CSO.

Legendary artist Engelbert Humperdinck will take the Palace Theatre stage in Stamford, CT on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. Humperdinck has been a legend in the international music industry for the last forty plus years, with more than 150 million records sold.

The Kenny Rogers concert, originally scheduled for Sunday, February 23, 2014 at 7:30 PM has been postponed due to illness. The concert is now scheduled for Sunday, June 8, 2014 at 7:30 PM. River Oaks Chamber Orchestra continues its 2013 – 2014 ROCO Chamber Series on Sunday, March 9 at 4 p.m. with a concert titled Rhythms of Paris and New Orleans at Gremillion &Co. Fine Art Annex located at 2504 Nottingham in the Rice Village area. The concert features chamber music by Sergei Prokofiev and Dave Anderson, selected for their ability to transport listeners to the cities the composers hail from.

Award-winning rhythm and blues singer Bettye LaVette performs songs from her 50 year career, including selections from her latest album, Thankful N' Thoughtful, on Friday, March 21 at 10:00 p.m. in Zankel Hall.
