One of the greatest big bands of all time, the Glenn Miller Orchestra returns by popular demand with a swinging show of classic hits, from String of Pearls and Tuxedo Junction to In the Mood and Moonlight Serenade. Whether you grew up listening to Miller's one-of-a-kind sound or just discovered it on iTunes, this great American band delights music lovers of all ages. Now led by singer Nick Hilscher, the present Orchestra was formed in 1956 and has been touring consistently since, playing an average of 300 live dates a year all around the world.

Celebrating its 27th season, Sunday A'Fair features free outdoor concerts in Scottsdale Civic Center Park by the Valley's top musicians, along with a fine arts and crafts market, fun activities for children and families, docent-led tours of the sculptures in the park and free admission to Scottsdale Museum of Contempoary Art (SMoCA). Guests are invited to bring blankets, lawn chairs or picnic baskets and enjoy a relaxing afternoon of great entertainment. Delicious foods from the grill, snacks and cocktails, beer, wine and soft drinks also are available for purchase.

ASU Concerts at the Center features performances by the faculty and students of the acclaimed Arizona State University Herberger Institute School of Music. Saxophonist Christopher Creviston coordinates this concert of small ensembles exploring the saxophone and drawing from a wide variety of compositional styles and periods, from classical and romantic to contemporary and jazz.

Imaginative and daring, the energetic Mimulus troupe from Brazil brings together ballroom, samba and other social dances. For their Scottsdale debut, they will perform the evening-length work Dolores, inspired by the films of acclaimed Spanish director Pedro Almodóvar. This provocative dance explores relationships among people with a touch of the improbable, the unusual, the tragic, the comic and the playful. After the performance, audience members are invited to join the Mimulus dancers in the Dayton Fowler Grafman Atrium for the "The Ball in the Hall" Mardi Gras celebration.

Native Trails is a free outdoor festival celebrating the Native American cultures of the Southwest through song and dance. Each event brings together traditional instruments, colorful dances and authentic attire to share the stories of Southwestern tribes, including the Hopi, Diné (Navajo), Akimel Au-Authm and San Carlos Apache. Audiences enjoy dances like the Southwest Horse Dance, inter-tribal pow-wow dancing, world-class hoop dancing and the participatory round dance. Native Trails also features American Indian artisans selling specialty items such as jewelry, baskets, flutes and paintings, as well as local culinary delights. Guests are invited to bring blankets, lawn chairs or picnic baskets.

Presented by Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation and produced by Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts in collaboration with Scottsdale Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Spontaneous, clever and outrageously fun, Late Nite Catechism stars award-winning actress Patti Hannon as quick-tempered Sister. Ruling her classroom with an iron fist, she teaches her students - who happen to be the audience - everything she knows about sins and saints while doling out rewards and reprimands with lightning speed. The record-breaking Late Nite Catechism comedies have been running every season at Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts since 2000. Each performance is unique and will appeal to people of all ages and faiths.

Long recognized as one of the top arts festivals in America, the Scottsdale Arts Festival is a weekend-long celebration of the visual, performing and culinary arts. The event features 200 jury-selected artists from throughout the United States, continuous live music and entertainment on two stages, an expanded roster of 15 local gourmet food trucks from the Phoenix Street Food Coalition, creative activities for kids at the Imagine Nation family area and free admission to Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art (SMoCA). In collaboration with the Festival, Scottsdale Public Art will present the U.S. debut of Happy Rainbow by the Los Angeles-based artist duo FriendsWithYou. Previously exhibited in Hong Kong, this interactive, 16-piece outdoor exhibition of brightly colored sculptures includes a 40-foot-wide inflatable 'bounce house' that inspires people of all ages to play and explore.

ASU Concerts at the Center features performances by the faculty and students of the acclaimed Arizona State University Herberger Institute School of Music. From Queen Creek to Cave Creek, Apache Junction to Peoria, secondary school-age harp students are flourishing, working with teachers in their school districts, in orchestras and bands, and privately in lessons and harp ensembles. This very special evening offers the opportunity to hear an orchestra accompany these talented young musicians in concerto movements and harp ensemble repertoire. Led by harp instructors and music directors from across the Valley, more than 40 students will perform, sharing their talent, dedication and commitment to the discipline of music. Audience members may meet harp ensemble students in the lobby before the concert and at intermission as they perform and talk about the harp, its rich history, intriguing construction and 21st-century innovation, and the role that music, and playing the harp, fills in their lives.
