Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center Announces Theatre Season Under New Artistic Leadership

Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center has announced the line-up for its first ever self-produced theatre season, and the company's first under the leadership of new Artistic Director Carmen Khan. This historic first season of professional theatre in downtown West Chester begins with William Gibson's joyful play, The Butterfingers Angel, Mary & Joseph, Herod The Nut, & The Slaughter Of 12 Hit Carols In A Pear Tree, opening  just in time for the holidays and running November 30 to December 23, 2022.

Brooklyn Book Festival to Return in September With Over 150 Authors

The Brooklyn Book Festival will return in 2022 with a strong roster of authors in stirring discussions of contemporary works, and their intricate examination and vivid reflection of our moment. From September 25–October 3, the extensive, inclusive nine-day festival invites readers to hear from some of today’s most acclaimed authors.

Arp Releases New Single 'Le Palace' From 'New Pleasures' LP

Expanding upon the expansive symbiosis that characterized the first two singles from New Pleasures, 'Le Palace' is a pulsing, futuristic, punky nightclub mix. Though named after the infamous Parisian “boîte au disco” (re: nightclub), “Le Palace” is not, in fact, a tribute to the club in question.

In his first single “No Vision,” Ladd creates a character tormented by self-destructive urges, somewhere between Stephen Malkmus and Tony Soprano. Kicking off the month on January 1st is the 1945 musical comedy film Ziegfeld Follies, featuring Fred Astaire, Lucille Ball, Gene Kelly, Judy Garland, Fanny Brice, Lena Horne and more. The How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying film, based on the musical of the same name, is set to debut on January 4th.

Adelaide Writers' Week Announces Full Program For 2021

After a year like no other, Adelaide Writers' Week will contemplate the Unstable Ground on which we stand as it launches its full program today. Across six days from Saturday 27 February to Thursday 4 March, 147 writers, poets, journalists, historians, scientists, politicians, academics and chairpersons from around the world will come together live and virtually for the 36th edition of Adelaide Writers' Week.

Photo Flash: Inside Opening Night of J2 Spotlight Musical Theater Company 's SEESAW

The newly formed J2 Spotlight Musical Theater Company presents the first of the three productions in the company's inaugural 2020 season. Seesaw, with book by Michael Bennett, music by Cy Coleman, and lyrics by Dorothy Fields, began performances Thursday, February 13, 2020 at 7:30pm and continue through February 23, 2020 at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street – between 9th and Dyer Avenues). Seesaw is presented by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc., a Concord Theatricals Company. Based on the play Two for the Seesaw by William Gibson. Opening Night is Thursday, February 13, 2020 at 7:30pm.
