Returning to London with their double bill, Pioneers, Ballet Black continue to enhance their reputation as Britain’s most diverse and daring ballet company.  

Royal Ballet Principal dancer Laura Morera will retire at the end of the Season after a career spanning over 27 years. Her final performance on the Royal Opera House stage will be on Saturday 17th June in Kenneth MacMillan's Anastasia Act III.

This is a double bill of new productions based on two plays by Shakespeare: 'The Dream' by Sir Frederick ASHTON, with a very British feel to it, and 'Macbeth' by Will TUCKETT, an Olivier award-winning choreographer with a remarkable international career. We hope you will enjoy these two works of tradition and innovation.

The score is by award-winning composer Jeremy Holland-Smith (Musical Director for West End Production of Billy Elliot). Berkeley Repertory Theatre has announced the full cast and creative team for the West Coast premiere of Emma Rice’s critically acclaimed Wuthering Heights, a reimagined version of Emily Brontë’s gothic masterpiece. Cassa Pancho’s company has always been small, at present featuring eight dancers (not including one currently on maternity leave) and over the years this has allowed audiences to become familiar with their individual faces, styles and techniques. Needless to say, there is a warm familiarity in going to see a Ballet Black show and this latest programme is no different. 

The Royal Ballet invites you to celebrate Christmas with their magical production of The Nutcracker, created for The Royal Ballet by Peter Wright in 1984. The festive favourite returns to the Royal Opera House on 23 November, with celebrations that week to commemorate Peter Wright's 95th Birthday (25 November).  

Barry Hughson, Executive Director of The National Ballet of Canada, today announced that Principal Dancer Skylar Campbell will depart The National Ballet of Canada to join Houston Ballet as a Principal Dancer in January 2022.

The hugely popular Ballet Black is back with a mixed bill full of lyrical contrasts and beautiful movement - dance so thrilling, imaginative and rich that audiences demanded a return.

The first production to open The Pit, following its closure for over a year and a half due to the pandemic, is Poetry + Film / Hack – Rocks curated by Inua Ellams and Michelle Tiwo. The evening begins with a screening of the award-winning critically-acclaimed film Rocks, followed by readings of specially commissioned new work by outstanding Black female poets, including Barbican Young Poets alumni, who respond to the film's themes.
