Shakespeare's Globe has announced the cast of Romeo and Juliet, directed by Associate Artistic Director Sean Holmes (Much Ado About Nothing, 2024; The Comedy of Errors, 2023-24).

Shakespeare’s Globe has revealed the cast of Romeo and Juliet, directed by Associate Artistic Director Sean Holmes. Romeo and Juliet launches the summer season, running from 25 April until 2 August in the Globe Theatre.  

The Women’s Prize for Playwriting, produced by Ellie Keel and Paines Plough, today announces its return for 2025. This year sees the largest ever prize fund for WPP with a first prize of £20,000.

Olivier Award®-winning actor Andrew Scott will reprise his wildly acclaimed performance in Vanya, a radical new adaptation of Chekhov’s masterwork, Uncle Vanya, which Mr. Scott co-created with adaptor Simon Stephens, designer Rosanna Vize and director Sam Yates, in its American Premiere.

Cate Blanchett and Tom Burke will star in Duncan Macmillan and Thomas Ostermeier's new version of Chekhov's masterpiece The Seagull. Also directed by Ostermeier, the production will play a limited 6 week run at the Barbican Theatre from February 2025. 

On 19 September, audiences worldwide can stream the critically acclaimed productions People, Places & Things with Denise Gough (Angels in America), and VANYA with Andrew Scott (All of us Strangers, Fleabag) on National Theatre at Home.

The cast has been announced for Guildford Shakespeare Company’s electric production of Romeo & Juliet. Performances run Friday 21st June – Saturday 13th July 2024.

Director Simon Godwin's brand-new critically-acclaimed  production of Macbeth starring Tony and BAFTA Award winner Ralph Fiennes and Olivier Award winner Indira Varma will be released in cinemas from May 2. In this exclusive video taken from his first soliloquy in Act 1 Scene 3, a battle-scarred Macbeth wrestles with his conscience after the Witches' prophecy that he will become Thane of Cawdor comes to pass.

The Donmar Warehouse's critically acclaimed production of Macbeth, starring David Tennant and Cush Jumbo, and directed by Max Webster, will transfer to the West End.
